뉴질랜드 대학진학시 사용되는 University Entrance/GES

뉴질랜드 대학으로 진학을 할때에 NCEA 를 바탕으로 2가지 시스템이 작용을 하게됩니다.

하나는 University Entrance , 또다른 한가지는  GES라는 어느일정의 점수 이상의 크리딧을 달성하게 되면,

웨이팅이라는 과정을 거치지 않고 바로 합격이 되는 시스템입니다.

 

물론 GES라는 것이 상당히 많은 크리딧과 이를 통해서 환산한 점수를 요구하기때문에, 자신이 진학하고자 하는 학교/과와 GES를 선택을 할수 있을정도의 실력인지, 아니면 일반적으로 학생들이 택하게 되는 University Enterance인지 어느정도 마음가짐은 하고있어야할 것으로 생각이 됩니다.

 

University Entrance이건 GES를 선택하던 간에 중요한 점은 대학에서 전공을 하려고 하는 과에 따라서

선수과목을 요구하는 과들 존재하기때문에, 11학년, 혹은 12학년때부터는 자신이 대학에서 어떤 전공을 가지고 직업선택을 할 것인가에 대한 부분까지 고민을 시작해야한다고 생각이 듭니다.

• Victoria University - GES

The Guaranteed Entry Score from NCEA is 120 points for all undergraduate degrees, except the Bachelor of Architectural Studies and Bachelor of Building Science which have a GES of 140. 

• Otago University - GES

The GES from NCEA is 140 points (or Level 2 endorsed with Merit/Excellence). If you do not gain this you can go on a 'waiting list' and depending on application levels you may gain entry.    

 

• Massey University

The GES from NCEA is 120 points.
