Craighead Diocesan School은 티마루의 Decile 9의 상당히 수준이 높은 Anglican 여자 고등학교입니다.
현재 339명의 총 학생중 13명의 인터네셔널 학생이 있고, 전체 학생의 3분의 1이 기숙사생활을 하고 있는
엄격한 학교입니다.
이번 Education Review Office report에서 상당히 좋은 점수를 획득하여서, 내년부터은 정원이 11명이 늘어난
350명의 학생을 받을수 있게 되었다고 합니다. NECA레벨에서 시험을 친 전체의 학생들이 대학입학자격 중 영어, 수학에서 모두 좋은 점수를 거두었다고 합니다. 같이 수준의 학교들에 비교해서 Craighead Diocesan School에서 대학진학율이 90%가 넘으며, 많은 수의 학생들이 장학금을 받으며 대학을 진학하는 결과를 내고 있는 학교입니다.
특히나 보딩을 하는 학생들의 수가 전교생의 3분의 1이나 되기때문에, 학교를 믿고, 신뢰하는 학부모들과
학교와의 관계가 상당히 좋습니다. Education Review Office report에서 중요한 점은 아마도 학교가 가진
전통이나, 독톡한 케릭터라고 하겠습니다. 특히나 기숙사에서의 생활을 학교 교실수업의 연장선상으로 보아서 엄격한 교육을 하고 있습니다.
크레이기해드 여자 고등학교는 7학년부터 13학년까지 공부할수 있는 여자고등학생들이 선택을 할 수 있는
가장 좋은 선택일것입니다. 기독교전통의 교육과, 지역사회내에서의 평판 역시 다른 보통의 학교들과 비교해서 상당히 높은 수준으로서 유학생들의 숫자도 상당히 적은 수입니다.
다음은 티마루헤럴드에 실린 크레이기해드 여자고등학교가 내년에 학교정원이 11명 늘어나 350명을 받을 수있다는 신문기사입니다.
Craighead Diocesan School has been given the go-ahead to extend its roll by 11 students after receiving a glowing Education Review Office report.
The October report found the decile 9 state integrated Anglican school, which now has 339 students,
had respectful and courteous relationships among students and teachers, and that students learnt in a positive and caring culture.The board of trustees has gained approval from the Education Ministry to extend its roll to a maximum of 350 students.About one-third of students are boarders and it has 13 international students.Since the 2006 review, the board had effectively managed a period of change in leadership, the report said. Francesca Black was appointed new principal at the start of last year.
Students were encouraged to achieve and excel in all aspects of their life and learning.
Christian values were part of the special character of the school, the report found. Compared with students in similar schools, students at Craighead achieved high levels in NCEA.
Last year, all students gained the literacy and numeracy requirements for university entrance and many were offered tertiary scholarships. Students outperform their peers in similar schools in attaining merit and excellence grades and scholarships.
In addition, they achieve considerable success in sporting, cultural and service activities, the report said.A next step is for the school to analyse and report more extensively on the achievement and progress of students in years 7 to 10. Mrs Black said the school would need to keep up with all advances in technology and subject choice because education was always changing.
"This report provides encouragement for the school to continue improvements to maintain its leading edge in education," Mrs Black said.
Some areas of non-compliance were identified in the report, including the need for Craighead's board of trustees to review its abuse policy, assign "education outside the classroom" delegations each year and strengthen board procedures for publicly excluded minutes. ERO is likely to carry out the next review in three years.
St Josephs Primary School in Timaru's latest ERO report said the school's special character was evident in all aspects of programmes and practices.The report was made available to the school community this month.
Positive relationships among peers and teachers reflected the values of the school and students appeared confident, capable and independent learners. Like Craighead, its next review is expected to be in three years.
